Phase 1: Post 9- Salient Identities

Updated: Mar 14, 2019

In class we did an exercise in our prototype groups in which we were told to write down our own personal salient identities and the salient identity of our our target audience for our prototype. My salient identity was muslim woman or more broadly put under religion and gender, Nabiha's salient identity was age, and Abid's was also religion. We had to tie this into our overall prototype identity which was students/workers. There are the obvious correlations between our personal salient identities and our overall one. For one, students/workers come in all ages, genders, and religion. However, as we discussed ways in which we could apply our own identities to our prototype identity, we found that students/workers might be too broad. Since we are making a technology that will transform your phone into a mouse, we figured that it could applied to people in a lower socio economic background as it will be more affordable than purchasing an actual mouse. It can also be applied strictly to iPhone users, as it may not be offered to android users.
